National Gallery London has mounted a provocative exhibition with just 18 paintings - 9 from the gallery's collections that curator Revd Dr Ayla Lepine has paired with 9 works from other institutions across the UK. The theme of the show emerges from St Paul's description of the qualities that mark a Christian spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness and self‐control.
